Have you been a Pinterest addict? Those amazingly creative chairs and table are all very do-able. Stop putting off these DIY chair and DIY table projects. Let's get started with a chair and table that you'll absolutely love.

DIY Kitsch chairs

What you need: Metal folding chairs, Enamel paint, Paintbrush, turpentine, sandpaper, gloves (optional)
Now that you have all the items in place, get ready to make your kitsch chairs. You could repurpose an old metal folding chair for this or buy new ones, they come as cheap as Rs 500 and once you are done, you won’t be able to take your eyes off them

Steps:

1. Spread sheets of newspaper and place one chair on them. Rub the sandpaper over all its surfaces to get rid of old uneven paint of edges.
2. Wear your gloves. Now, mix some enamel paint with turpentine in a bowl. The ideal ratio of paint to turpentine is 1:10, but do keep the shade you are looking for in mind.
3. Dip the brush in mixed paint and dab away so no paint drips. Start painting. Begin with the bottom with the chair folded up. Now work your way around it, painting larger surfaces first and getting on to the legs and crevices later.
4. Be sure to not get paint over skin and especially your clothes. Paint on your skin? You will need to rub turpentine to get rid of it. You can’t really save the clothes if soaked in paint.
5. Complete one coat and let the chair dry for 6-8 hours under the fan. When dried, repeat with another coat.
6. Place a contrasting cushion on the chairs and they are ready to be used as kitschy dining chairs, garden chairs or anywhere.

DIY Tyre Table

What you need:

Tyres 2 ideally, Acrylic paint, paintbrush, glass top, adhesive

Here’s a fun way of making your own coffee/ balcony table by repurposing old tyres. What’s more? It is cheap, easy and beautifully colourful.
Steps:
1. Start with washing the tyres thoroughly and drying them under the sun or a fan indoors.
2. Next, spread sheets of newspaper and place a tyre on them.
3. Pick your choice of acrylic paint or other paint that can be used on rubber. Dilute using water in the case of acrylic paints.
4. Dip the brush in the diluted mix, dab and begin painting. Cover all the surfaces and sides first, and then carefully fill in the grooves with paint.
5. Repeat the above steps with the second tyre.
6. Let both tyres dry for 6-8 hours or leave them overnight just to be sure.
7. Cut the piece of glass to form the top of the table. You could cut it square or round if you want to avoid edges. Make sure it is bigger than the tyre base but not too large. Think about the stability.
8. Now, place one tyre on the floor and the second on top. Now, place the glass top on top of them. Adhesive can be used to secure the glass top on the tyre base.
9. Voila! Your table is ready. Go ahead and place it in your balcony or pair it up with low seating in the living room.
