The E-Dharti Geo portal or the E-Dharti Portal Delhi as it is popularly known is different from E-Dharti Rajasthan, which is for Jamabandi.
The portal was launched on October 21 2020 by the Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs of India, Hon. Harshdeep Singh Puri. The aim of this project as per the official Government statement is to ensure ease of living and bring transparency and accountability to the management of more than 60,000 properties. This project was launched by the Land and Development Office(L&DO), which comes under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. The E-Dharti Portal is a pioneering effort by an Indian Land-Owning agency to map and label all the land that is owned. In addition to providing citizens with ready access to all the information, the portal will also enable the tracking of black money and Benami transactions.
