NOW is the time to get affordable housing in Virar, Pune, Mumbai, Nasik, Thane, and Nagpur. How? When? We’re here to answer those questions for you. All you need to do is look for housing from Maharashtra Housing and Development Authority MHADA. This is an organization started by the government to provide affordable housing to middle and lower-income groups in Maharashtra. The MHADA website is easy to find and navigate through.
Before that, however, let us understand what the MHADA construction scheme is, and what its situation in 2023 is.
Understanding the MHADA Lottery Scheme
Having a shelter above the head is an essential requirement of living for all of us, regardless of how much we earn. With an aim to provide affordable housing for all, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority or MHADA offers a scheme to the residents of the state with a lottery of nearly 1,300 low-cost houses through a lottery system. With costs of apartments ranging from INR affordable 14.6 lakhs to lavish 5.8 crores, the MHADA homes and flats are allotted to randomly selected winners belonging to specific sections across EWS (Economically Weaker Sections), LIG (Low Income Group), MIG (Medium Income Group) and HIG (High Income Group). To apply, you must fulfil a few conditions including:

MHADA Lottery 2023 Mumbai Dates
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic over the past year, the lack of constructed and ready houses has delayed the government’s housing lottery. As per a news report by the Mumbai Mirror in 2021 for instance, the lotter is likely to be held this year in 2023 for which the registrations had begun from the end of 2021 itself. The names of successful applicants in the draw will be published on 7th January 2023 on the MHADA site i.e. https://lottery.mhada.gov.in/.

Registering for MHADA Online
The great thing about MHADA housing is that it’s affordable, quality housing that’s given fairly. They use a lottery system to ensure that people get homes on a first-come-first-served basis. All you have to do is go to https://lottery.mhada.gov.in/OnlineApplication/ and fill in their rather comprehensive and simple online registration form. The MHADA online form process is shown below.
Once you have decided where you want to live and have taken a look at the property, you can go ahead with the registration and form-filling process. What I love about the site is that it gives you options to see the property you choose right from the construction phase to completion. You get to view floor plans as well as images of every room in the house. You know that your house is going to look just as expected.
