Hey,

I calculate the carpet area of my house by following a simple formula. Before I answer your question , you need to know what is carpet area.

Carpet area can be deemed as all the area within the four walls of your house which can be carpeted. This area starts from the entrance of your house.

It does not include common areas like lobby, lift, lobby, etc.

There is a simple formula to calculate carpet area of a house.

Carpet area = Net usable area on the floor - area covered by external walls, areas under service shafts, elevators, exclusive balcony or veranda.

If you have loading factor then you’ll need to figure out what is super built up area, the formula to carpet area then would be:

Carpet area X (1- loading factor) = super built-up area

I hope this formula and answer helps you calculate carpet area.
