Hi,
I have been in a similar situation before where the landlord was causing unnecessary tension and stress. I had no option but to take legal action. Let me tell you what legal actions you can take.
Legal Rights of A TenantUnder the Rent Control Act, the landlord can’t evict his tenants without sufficient cause or reason.
If the tenants are experiencing a nuisance from the landlord in any circumstance, they can file a complaint under section 286 of IPC in the magistrate court.
It’s good that you have all the proofs like WhatsApp messages and emails. They are sure to make your case stronger.

Am from Hyderabad, My landlord was selling his flat and asked us to vacate , ideally process as per agreement is to give one month notice ,we have negotiated for 15days after several discussions ,so owner agreed as follows ,if we vacate flat on or before 15th ,rent will be charged for 15days and post 15th it will be charged for entire month , we intimated them on 12th Dec that we have finalized a flat and will be vacating flat by 15th as agreed ,prior itself we gave heads up that we are searching,as he wanted us to vacate . On 14th as per tenat exit process, community had sent a mail to owner to approve ,on 15th we have vacated flat and on 16th morning we texted them to collect keys ,now owner has deducted entire month claiming keys discussion was initiated on 16tb . We have proofs of discussion on e-mail and whatsapp, how do.we get balance amount
