Khasra number is the legal survey number given to each land parcel. Khasra number is the unique identity of a particular land. This number is registered in the land records of India and is allotted by the Land and Revenue Department of India. A prospective buyer will first verify the land before making the payment.

You can find following information through Khasra number:
  • Ownership of the land and owner record of the land.

  • Area of the land

  • Type of soil.

  • Location of the land.

  • Debts and liabilities on the land

The khasra number is designed as per the survey number of the land locality. Please note if you sell some part of your land then the khasra number will be updated for example if the previous Khasara number is 650 and the owner has sold its three parts then the Khasra number will be updated as 650/1, 650/2 ,650/3 ,650/4. The Land owner will receive the khasra number from the local tehsil. You describe the khasra number you need to tell the tehsil of your land.

Please  if a person is buying the inter-state property, you need to visit the local tehsil where land is located.
