Hi Buddy,

According to the Co-operative Societies Acts, a housing society must open a bank account at a district cooperative bank from the very beginning. The Registrar of Co-operative Societies must approve societies before they can open an account with a nationalised bank, though. Also, to answer your query, I would like to say that according to my knowledge, two different bank accounts cannot be used to maintain a single housing society.
