I decided to follow each and every Vastu norm while building my own house, and apart from knowing the direction of the bedroom, I also had to know what should be the Vastu for guest room. Different people gave their different opinions. Most of them, however, suggested building the guest room in the south-east direction. I hence decided to call my grandmother and ask- can guest bedrooms be south east or not. Older people always followed Vastu norms, so getting answers from them seemed to be the best option.

But yes, the south-east direction is also a good direction to construct a guest room. Other aspects that need to be followed are-
The bed should be lying in the south/west direction
The guests should be sleeping with their heads towards the south.
The electronic items should be on the southeast wall of the room
The bathroom door should not be on the opposite side of the bed.
The cabinets must be installed on the south/west wall.
Also, the guest room colour according to Vastu should be blue, white, or green. You can opt for other colours as well, but these will be the best option.
