There were some old UPVC windows at my house that needed a new coat of paint. I consulted a painter about my question: can upvc windows be painted? I wanted to give the UPVC windows a new coat of paint. The painter said it is possible to paint a UPVC window, and shared the steps to do so.

Can You Paint UPVC Windows?

  1. Masking the surface: First you have to take masking tape and mask the surfaces that have to get cleaned. This way you won't have to clean the whole window and you will save time.

  2. Cleaning: Take a damp cloth and dry the upvc window surface.

  3. Application of Primer: A layer of primer has to be applied so that it will allow the paint to be more firm on the upvc window which will make your job easier.

  4. Spray Paint the windows: The best way to go about the paint job is to spray paint the windows. Remember to start painting only after the upvc window has been thoroughly cleaned. It is better to apply two or three coats of spray paint. Sometimes certain colours need more than 2 to 3 coats of spray paint to ensure the upvc window is properly covered.

  5. Take off masking tape - After the paint dries up completely, ensure that the masking tape is taken off. This is the process of painting upvc windows.

I hope this has given you the answer to can we paint UPVC windows.
