It is believed that this pooja will remove all negative energy from the property and help the dweller to live a peaceful and healthy life. I was 6 months pregnant when we decided to move into a new house but my mother-in-law did not seem happy. She believed pregnant women should not do griha pravesh and wanted us to postpone our plan. Can we do griha pravesh during pregnancy?

Our pandit ji said that although a pregnant woman can do griha pravesh pooja but better to avoid it. During pregnancy, women are advised not to lift any heavy objects, run quickly, consume any unhealthy food, do fasting and follow a lot of rules. Now during the griha pravesh pooja, fasting is a must and the main problem is the havan. The smoke of the havan might harm the mother and deteriorate her health so it is better to postpone the housewarming ceremony. However, if one takes care of these things and takes precautions and care, a pregnant woman can do the pooja. So if you ask me can you do griha pravesh when pregnant, I will suggest you can do it only if you take extra care of yourself.
