Wondering

can we pay GST through HDFC credit card

. GST (Goods and Services Tax) payments in India cannot be directly made using credit cards.

Can We Pay GST Using Credit Card?

However, GST payments can be made through various other electronic modes such as internet banking, debit cards, NEFT/RTGS, or over-the-counter payment through authorized banks.

Here are some common methods for making GST payments:

  • Taxpayers can log in to their bank's internet banking portal and initiate a GST payment using the GST challan provided by the GSTN (Goods and Services Tax Network).

  • Some banks allow GST payments to be made using debit cards. Taxpayers can use their debit card details to make the payment on the GST portal.

  • Taxpayers can initiate a NEFT (National Electronic Funds Transfer) or RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement) transaction from their bank account to the designated GST account.

  • Taxpayers can visit authorized banks and make GST payments over the counter by providing the necessary details and submitting the payment amount.

While credit card GST payment are not directly accepted, taxpayers can still use credit cards to make payments through other methods, such as using the credit card to fund their bank account and then making the GST payment through internet banking or NEFT/RTGS.

Hey Friend,

To answer your query about, can we pay GST through credit card? I would like to say, yes! GST payments can be made online by both individuals and businesses using debit or credit cards. Restrictions, refunds, and return filing were all made online by the government when it implemented the new indirect tax regime in 2016. You have a variety of payment options, including NEFT, RTGS, and others, in addition to using a credit card or debit card.

Accepting input tax credits has been simpler for traders, merchants, retailers, and industry since the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax. It has prevented double taxes and placed a light compliance cost. It created a single market for our nation. Opening an account with a government bank is not required. You can transfer money if you have a private bank account.

Both taxpayers and administrators have found that paying taxes online is convenient as the internet becomes more widely used.

A GST myth is as follows:

If you used a credit card to pay for it, you would incur two charges. The tax secretary, on his Twitter account, emphasised that "a false notion is spreading on social media." Consequently, it is a total myth.

The GST won't affect you if you make frequent payments. Your credit card bill will not be charged for service tax. However, if you pay late, the business will assess fees or penalties against you.

Hence, after knowing whether GST payment through credit card is possible or not, let us focus on the process of GST payment through credit card.
