Work on less windy days to  remove the old paint by gently scraping it. You can prevent the lead dust and chips spreading through the air and waterways by avoiding methods like power wash, sanding or high heat. Use a vacuum to collect any paint flakes left behind.

Prime and Painting

You have to apply a good quality primer to seal the remaining old paint. After priming, fill any holes with a filler. Use a lead-based encapsulant paint which is thick and prevents the releasing of lead.
