Here’s the process for spraying paint on kitchen cabinets and cupboards:
Dismantle and Cleaning
Remove all the hinges and screws from your kitchen cabinet doors and drawers.
You can scrub the surface with 1 cup of trisodium phosphate mixed with 4 cups of water, to remove grease, steam or food residue on your kitchen hardware by rinsing the doors and cabinets.
You can also spray a degreaser on the door fronts and drawer faces to clean and wipe them with a soft cloth.
Sand
Select a grit-sandpaper based on the gloss and type of paint on your doors and drawers. Use a hand sand block with sandpaper on worn and shiny areas to remove any old finishing
You have to sand the paint flaking spot to bare wood. After sanding, dust off with vacuum and wipe with a moist cloth for a clean surface.
Primer and Painting:
Spray the primer-sealer in thick even layers for better sticking of paint on the surface.
You can spray the topcoat which is thinned by 80% paint and 20% water, and apply from the inside edges and openings, then move towards the outer cabinet and door faces. The drying time for each layer is four hours.
