The team who came along cleaned the tiles thoroughly to remove any dirt and grease using soap and water.
One thing I quickly learned by observing was that smooth, flat tiles are the best for wallpapering. If your tiles have deep grout lines or are heavily textured, I suggest to fill in the grout lines and sand them down.
But the painter’s overlooked and skipped this step at first, thinking it wouldn’t matter, but the wallpaper ended up looking bumpy and weird, so they had to go back and do it properly.
Next, they sanded the glossy tiles lightly to give the adhesive. After that, they used a primer that’s specifically made for high-moisture areas.
For the wallpaper, I chose a vinyl-coated type because the painters said it’s more resistant to moisture and easier to clean.
