The members of society committees would benefit from knowing their duties, as I have discovered in reality with several committees. Bye-laws demand that we fulfil our duties in order to protect ourselves in the event of a legal dispute. So let’s take a look at the co operative housing society rules for members.

Let NoBroker manage your property and stay away from legal issues.

Rules for members of the housing society:

  • You should cooperate with the working committee and treat society's people with dignity as family members.

  • You must properly follow any guidelines for using the society's amenities that are periodically established by the General Meetings Body meeting.

  • No member should lease his apartment without the society's prior approval.

  • You must present the society with a photocopy of the agreement that has been properly registered, one print of the application that has been submitted to the police station together with the agreement, and all of the supporting documentation.

  • No member may perform any alterations or changes to his or her flat without the managing committee's prior written consent.

  • You should not keep any animal or bird on the property, an apartment, or a house owned by the society without the consent of the society and local authority.

Co operative housing society member rights:

  • As a member, you are allowed to seek access to the society's financial records during the time specified in the rules.

  • Members have the right to inspect the yearly financial statement, the balance sheets, and all books that detail the transactions of the society.

  • The right to vote in elections is granted to each property within the housing society as well as to the owner or his authorised person.

  • As an illustration, if a couple lives together and the wife owns a separate property in the building, she will also be able to vote.

  • Annual General Meetings, Special General Body Meetings, and Meetings of the Managing Committee Only are the three different sorts of meetings.

  • You can request meeting notes and bye-laws if you were unable to attend the meeting or if you want to understand what happened.

Now you are aware of the co operative housing society rules for members.
