As per Maharashtra-Cooperative-Society-Rules-1961, there is following section ... 56A-34. Casual vacancies how to be filled in:- In the event of vacancy occurred on account of death, resignation or otherwise, it shall be filled in by the society, according to the provision of bye-laws of the society. So can you please let us know/suggest as per bye-laws ... we can hold a new elected committee meeting and add new member or do we have to wait for 2-3 months? Again please let me know.

Hey friend, 

I have read your question carefully. In case of any vacancy, you can conduct elections according to the bylaws of the society. As a society, you can make your bylaws and decide whether electing a new member is a good decision or not. You just need to make sure the bye-law does not contradict the Maharashtra Cooperative Society Registration Act. I would suggest, you should speak about the same with other committee members.
