Hi there,
There was a huge confusion regarding pension to paramilitary forces. Since there are two types of paramilitary forces that are the Rashtriya Rifles and Assam Rifles there was great confusion. Since RR is a pure army deputation, therefore, anyone working for RR receives a pension after retirement. And the AR who joined before 2004 is eligible for a pension. What about people who joined after 2004? Since this confusion was not resolved therefore people still ask do paramilitary forces get pension.
Does paramilitary forces have pension?
The Government has shared some opinions regarding ‘Is paramilitary get pension?’ And indeed it is a positive one. In 2009, the Government announced that all jawans who have joined paramilitary forces since 2004 will receive their pension. Regarding the confusion of pension to paramilitary forces, the Director General Border Security Force M L Kumawat said:
"I am pleased to announce that the government has accepted our demand of restoring the old pension scheme. Now, everyone in the forces will get the pension,"
With the Sixth Pay Commission on India, this pension scheme was also initiated. The General of CPOs took the initiative and wrote to the government so that the jawans can get their pension benefits. Well, this is good news indeed! Isn't it?
I hope now you know do paramilitary forces get pension or not.
