For my house, I needed a doorbell to be installed, so I called the electrician to do it. He was punctual and wrapped up the process in a quick time and I observed the entire process. So I can give you the answer of: do you need an electrician to install a doorbell or not.

Do I Need an Electrician to Install A Ring Doorbell?

If you want, you can install the doorbell yourself. Since I hired a professional, let me share what I observed while he did the job:

He charged the doorbell’s battery for around 8 hours first

  • He then placed it in the right area (4ft above the ground)

  • The Chime needs to be installed where the bell can be heard. The power supply should be cut off while installing it. The chime installation is a vital part of installing a doorbell.

  • He drilled the mounting and secured it with screws and secured the doorbell to the mount.

  • He did the electrical part and checked the doorbell’s performance.

It took him just half an hour to complete the task. Since doorbells are a very important part of the house setting, in most cases, electricians are summoned to install the doorbell. However, if you feel you can do it yourself, go on.
