In this scenario, there are few things that you must keep in mind, firstly, what does your lease/ rent agreement say and secondly, what do your state laws have to say about this. The Indian Tenancy Act is made so that you as a tenant do not go through a traumatic experience renting a home, so if you have all your documents in order, the law will protect your interest. If you have the money and the time to fight, then you can approach the court and file an eviction petition. This might take anywhere between 3-5 years, so till then you can continue to reside in the house and the new owners will not be able to do anything. You will still have to continue to pay rent. The new owner can buy you out or wait for the court hearing.
