When it comes to interiors and furnishing, we Indians have a unique taste and preferences. So here are a few tips to renovate your house while making it look spacious: a. Opt for built-in storage If you have a lot of items in your house, then the best thing to do is to buy built-in storages. There are many ideas available online on websites like Pinterest. Instead of bringing home bulky cabinets, you can ask your architect/designer to create in-built units for you, fitted into wall niches. b. Choose Pocket Door People these days are choosing pocket doors instead of the regular ones. Pocket doors slide to the other side when open which makes the room look spacious as it takes very little space. c. Choosing the right furniture If you have small rooms, instead of opting for heavy and bulky furniture, go for small and medium sized furniture. For instance, rather than buying a bulky sofa, go for a traditional type of diwan. It will give your house a traditional look and it will occupy little space at the same time. d. Place your furniture towards the wall Always place your furniture towards the wall as it will leave ample space in between making it look big. This way, your kids can also play around the house. e. Tips for Kids room For the kids room, I would suggest that you make bunk beds if your kids are below 10. For studying purposes, you can go for a cupboard cum study table.
