I recently bought wooden furniture for my new flat. However, I found it extremely frustrating when I attempted to take the glued paper out of it. I started looking up how do I remove glued paper from wood without destroying the coating. I discovered that a plastic scraper works well to remove it. When I tried it, the glued paper came off immediately. If you are also looking for the same, follow the steps listed below.

How to Remove Sticky Paper from Wood?

I have followed the below procedure to remove sticky paper from my wooden furniture:

  • I began by lightly coating the glued area with cooking oil.

  • I then gave it a few minutes to soak into the glue.

  • I carefully scratched away the paper with a plastic scraper. Please apply extra oil if needed or else you will end up scratching off the coating on your furniture.

  • I used a fresh cloth to wipe the wood surface after the paper was removed. You can also use a sponge dipped in warm, soapy water.

  • Finally, I let it completely dry.

Moreover, one of my friends today informed me that to soften the glue and carefully peel the paper off, I can also use a hair dryer.

Although taking off glued paper from wood can be an exhausting task, you can successfully restore the wood's flawless appearance with a little perseverance and the right method. I hope you get an idea of how to remove glued paper from wood. 🙂
