My mother-in-law shared with me an easy solution on how do you get syrup out of carpet and it has always been effective. All you have to do is blot up as much as the syrup you can with a tissue, paper towel or newspaper, make a solution of white vinegar and water, spray it on the carpet, and wash it with clean water. Using dishwashing liquid and water solution can also be used as an alternative.

How to Get Corn Syrup out of Carpet?

Here is the step-by-step process you can follow to remove the syrup from your carpet:

  • Using paper towels, newspapers or tissue papers, blot up as much syrup as possible without pressing it further into the carpet fibres. This will help you prevent the stickiness of the syrup from spreading further.

  • Then, make a solution using 1 tablespoon of white vinegar with 1 cup of warm water, and apply it to the stained area using a cloth. Once it's done, gently dab with the cloth, focussing on removing the stickiness.

  • After the syrup loosens, rinse the area with a small amount of clean water. I blot it with a dry towel to absorb the moisture, repeating if needed until the stickiness is gone so you can do the same.

If you want, you can also use dishwashing soap and water or detergent and water solution instead of vinegar and water.
