Hi. I can help you by sharing the refridgerator installation process. I got a new Whirlpool fridge last month and installed it with the help of my brother. Let me share the process.

What is the New Fridge Installation Method?

Here is the method to install a new fridge.

  • Remove the old fridge plug from the socket. Place a flat cardboard piece on the floor, and turn off the water connection and ice maker. Switch off the power supply and water lines.

  • Place the power supply lines to the back of your old fridge and fasten it with packing tape.

  • Empty the fridge and take out all the shelves and drawers. Tape the fridge’s doors. Remove the old fridge from the place with a hand cart or lift it and recycle it, donate it, or whatever feels suitable.

  • Have around half an inch of space on each side of the fridge and one between the wall and the back of the new fridge.

  • Take out all the drawers and remove them from the new drudge and remove the doors or tape them.

  • With the help of another person, place the fridge in the desired place. Leave ample space behind the fridge to make adjustments. If the refrigerator is tipped on its side, let it sit straight for some hours before you connect the electricity supply.

  • You can check the fridge’s installation guide to see all the required parts to connect the refrigerator to the water line.

  • Disconnect the water supply. Find the copper or PEX water line tubing in the back of the fridge. See that the tube’s length is enough to connect it with the water supply line.

  • Connect the water supply valve and the copper tube using the compression fittings available in the installation kit.

  • Fit the compression sleeve and nut onto the copper tubing. With an adjustable wrench, connect the water supply valve with the tubing. Avoid over-tightening.

  • Connect the other end of the tubing to the fridge’s water supply line after it is drained.

  • Keep the tube’s open side into a bucket. Switch on the water supply line to flush out the tubing. Once the water starts running clean, switch off the water supply line.

  • Find the water line port in the back of the fridge and connect it to the tube’s free end. Fit the compression sleeve onto the tubing like in step 10.  Switch on the main water supply.

  • Let the fridge sit for half a day or a day once the refrigerator is connected to the water supply line. Don’t plug it in.

  • After the time has passed, plug the fridge into the socket and see that the electrical cord and water line tubing are not pitched or entangled.

  • Slide the fridge into its position. Check that the appliance is stable using a level. Adjust the fridge’s four legs if needed. If you can’t adjust the legs, check the manual.

  1. Keep a level on top of the fridge and measure each side.

  2. Take off the base grille if needed.

  3. Find the levelling legs at the fridge’s bottom. Find a wrench to adjust the legs’ height.

  • Loosen the hinges on the door with a socket wrench. Align the door and tighten the hinges. Place the shelves and other items into the unit after cleaning them. Adjust the fridge and freezer temperature settings to complete the new refrigerator installation. Let the temperature cool down for some hours before storing anything.

So, this is all from my side. I hope you now know the refridgerator installation process.
