Hi,

I read your question where you were asking how does an AC work in a house. Coming from an engineering background, I can answer your question. If I had to tell you about working in one sentence, I would say that air conditioners provide cold air in your home by removing the hot and humid air from the space. This was a brief explanation.

But, if I have to expand this and share the components used, that would take a different section. So, let me ease things out for you by giving a precise working method for an air conditioner.

How does the AC Work in a House?

The AC performs the cooling function by bringing cooled air into the home interiors and transferring the heat outside. Any AC unit comes with a chemical known as refrigerant, which has three mechanical parts.

  1. Compressor

  2. Condenser Coil

  3. Evaporator Coil

All of these three parts work together to change the refrigerant’s form from gas to liquid and then back again.

After this, the compressor increases the pressure and temperature of the refrigerant gas and passes it to the condenser coil to convert it into liquid form. The refrigerant then travels back indoors and goes into the evaporator coil. It is here that the refrigerant in liquid form evaporates and then cools the indoor coil.

A fan then blows indoor air through the cold evaporator coil, and the heat in the interiors of the home is absorbed by the refrigerant. The cooled air is then passed throughout the home interiors, and the heated evaporated gas is pushed outside to the compressor. In the last step related to how does an AC work in a house, the heat is released in the outer environment with the return of the refrigerant to its liquid form. This whole cycle keeps on happening until your home has been cooled to the set temperature.

So, this is how does AC work in house. I hope this helps.
