How attic ventilation works?

To know about attic ventilation I would like to state about two main types of ventilation in the attic.

  • Intake Vents

Intake vents are situated at the lowest part of the roof under the eaves and on the sides of the house within a gable or as shingled intake vents that are positioned on a low part of the roof. These vents let cool air enter the attic.

  • Exhaust vents

There are exhaust vents installed in the attic which are located on the peak of the roof.

Passive ventilation is the most common way to keep the attic well ventilated. To let the warm air out the cool air in, it is always advisable to install at least 1 square foot of vent for every 300 square feet of attic floor. There are local buildings which may vary so you need to check with the building authority before installing a vent in the roof.

This is the process on how does attic ventilation work.

I hope you know the DIY attic ventilation process now.
