Hi there! I faced the issue of not being able to pay my gas bill on time a few months ago. I got into an accident and a lot of my savings went away in getting treatment and fixing my car that suffered a lot of damage. Hence, I wasn’t able to pay a lot of my utility bills, including my gas bill. So I asked around and searched up how late can I pay my gas bill, and found that it is advised to pay 3 to 4 days before the due date.

How Long Can I Go Without Paying Gas Bill?

I didn’t really find a definite answer when I looked it up, so I asked my friends and family about it. A relative of mine told me it is advisable to pay your gas bill 3 to 4 days before the due date to avoid any last-minute hassles or issues.

  • If you go up to 10 days late without paying your gas bill, it won’t incur much late fee payment charges.

  • If you live in a rented flat like me, you can also ask your landlord to pay on your behalf for a few months until you can pay it yourself and also pay your landlord back.

  • There can be quite a few consequences if you don’t pay the bill on time. Other than late fee payment penalty, if you don’t pay for a long time, you can also experience a disconnection of your gas service on notice. Worst-case scenario, it can affect your credit score negatively as well.

So everyone said it is highly advisable to pay your bill on time. As I was in shortage of money, I asked my landlord to pay my bill and I will return it later. He paid my gas bill immediately using the

app, which I also used to pay my utility bills. Hope this helps!
