Here are some factors that affect the moving house time:

• Depending on the house size and items, packing can differ. For me, this step took several days, as I handled some fragile items personally, ensuring everything was organised. It took me 8 days just to pack the goods and around 1-2 days more to organise them properly. 

• The actual move is usually the quickest, especially for a nearby location. One full day is enough to load, transport, and unload.

• Unpacking took longer than expected. From placing furniture to setting up essentials, I found it can take a week or two to feel settled.

• Finally, it took me about a month to organise everything properly.

So this is exactly how long it takes to move house. You can take a look at your goods and then calculate how much time you will need based on the aspects I mentioned.

How long does it take to move a house?

Moving to a house will depend on whether you already have a new property ready to shift in or not. In our case, we had to purchase a property so it took about 5 months. Let me share what things we had to do here.

This is the most crucial and vital step to take. At first, if you do not have a ready property to move in, you have to search for it. This is the most time-consuming part. For us, it took about 2 months to choose a property but this time limit can vary from one person to another. 

We did not take any loans but if you want to avail of one before moving into a new one, it will take about a month or so.

Please do not shift into the property you chose just after one visit. Try to know as many details as you can, check the legal documents, know the previous owner properly and then shift. It should get done within 2 weeks unless there are some legal issues.  The sale and transfer of property must get done within 2-3 weeks.

You may need to renovate or repair the new property before moving in. In our case, we had to paint it all new and it took about a month to get completed. If there is any need for further developments, do it. This time is not fixed but let's consider it will take a month.

This gets a bit messy, to be honest. It took about 3 weeks for us to bring in all the items from our old house to the new one. This time period can also vary.
