The consumer court was established in India to protect customers from getting cheated or scammed. The Indian Parliament passed the Consumer Protection Act., so that the customer can appeal to the court in case they are cheated by a seller. The consumer court is a separate body created to settle customer disputes faster. This forum is especially created for customers to make the process less expensive. How can you file a case against sellers at a consumer court if you are scammed?

Filing a suit is easy. I will share with you all the details so that you can also file a case in a consumer court. Firstly you need to send an intimation notice before filing a suit. If you do not receive any response you need to file a complaint draft to the consumer court. Fill up all the necessary information in the draft and don't forget to attach documents such as:

  • A copy of the bill, receipt, product

  • Guarantee or warranty paper

  • The notice you gave to the seller

You need to visit the consumer court and pay the amount required to file a complaint. Submit the affidavit and present your statements. This is how you file complaints in consumer court.
