Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Chikkaballapur, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Kolar, Ramanagara, Shimoga, and Tumakuru are the districts that make up the division.

The division covers a total size of 49,936 square kilometres. According to the 2011 census, the total population was 22,523,301, making it the world's fifth-most populous sub-division.

The climate in the Bengaluru division is tropical monsoon. The Western Ghats are the source of many of the rivers in this section. Uttara Pinakini, Dakshina Pinakini, Vedavathi, Shimsha, Tungabhadra, Sharavathi, Varada, and others are important rivers in this division. Mineral reserves abound in this division.
