A notification was released dated January 1, 2014 by the Office of the Director (Revenue) Delhi Jal Board that domestic consumers in the national capital will enjoy free water supply of up to 20 KL per month. Anybody whose water consumption would be less than 20 KL per month will be exempted from paying water bill. 

A couple of conditions however, are still in place - benefit is available only to those who have functional water meters installed and if the limit is exceeded, the consumer will be billed as per applicable monthly tariff on full water consumption.
