The structural support beam cost varies depending on its type. It can be based on weight or even size. During our house renovation, we used the 200*100mm MS beam, and it cost us around Rs 48,211 per ton. I still have the list of different supporting beams along with their prices, so for your reference, you can look at it below.

What is the Cost for Support Beam?

As I mentioned, the cost of a support beam depends on the type of it. Here is a list of them you can look at:

Type of Beam

Cost

Mild Steel Universal Beam

Rs 62,000 per metric ton

JSPL Jindal Beams

Rs 75,000 per ton

H Mild Steel MS Structures Beams

Rs 53 per kg

Mild Steel Structural Beams For Construction

Rs 85 per kg

Jindal Mild Steel MS Structural Beams

Rs 48 per kg

IRON main sail MS I Beam Structural Steel

Rs 44 per kg

MS beam of 200*100mm

Rs 48,211 per ton

MS beam of 300*140mm

Rs 49,311 per ton

These are the beam types along with the rates I have with me, but there are more. As for the cost to replace main house support beam, you must consult with a renovator and get to know it. It will depend on several factors, like:

  • The type of beam you are planning to use

  • How many beams will be needed

  • Complexity of the work

  • Labour charge in your area and others

I hope these prices will help you get an idea about the beam prices and negotiate them accordingly.

How much does a beam cost for a load bearing wall?

Apart from the above-mentioned aspects the following can affect the overall pricing of a load bearing wall:

  • The price of support beams may be more expensive in cities like Bangalore or Pune or Delhi than in suburban or rural locations. This is a result of the greater need for and accessibility of building supplies in metropolitan areas.

  • The price of delivery and shipping may increase the overall cost.

  • Finally, the cost of professionals and qualified labour to install the support beam should also be taken into account. In order to construct the beam correctly and maintain structural integrity, it is essential to hire skilled engineers or builders.
