I think it is weird that we remember to clean the bathroom counter, bathtub, and toilet seat but not the shower curtains. Dirty shower curtains can make you sick. If you don’t let the plastic curtains dry properly, mould and mildew can impact the fabric. I will share the method on how to clean shower curtain to achieve shiny shower curtains. 

How often to clean shower curtain ?

  • I think the shower curtain liner should undergo a thorough wash every month. If you can see visible gunk and dirt on the shower liner, you should wash it right away. 

  • The shower curtain can be washed once every two month

 How to clean plastic shower curtain ?

The easiest way to wash fabric shower curtains is by putting them in the washing machine. You should recheck the wash instructions by taking a look at the washing instructions given on the tag. If the curtains are made of machine safe fabric, you should follow the instructions below :

  •  Set your machine on the largest load setting.

  •  Switch on the warm water attachment 

  •  Add a few drops of any detergency and a cup of white vinegar. 

  •  Switch on the machine at a gentle setting 

  •  Let the machine wash the curtain normally. 

For plastic curtains, I would recommend hand washing the curtain-liner set. For the curtain, you can create a scrub by adding baking soda to water.
