Our hinges are a bit old and now they have been creating noise at times or else not closing the doors and cabinets properly. It was quite odd to call some experts for such a mere task hence my father decided to fix them all himself. He was not quite sure hence to get confirmed, he called my uncle once they both adjusted the soft close hinges within two hours. They are all working like new ones. How to adjust soft close hinge tension?

  • I would also like to say that most of our doors have become loose due to the loose hinges and that is why it sometimes overlaps its neighbouring doors. If that is the case, you will need to tighten it up and get it fixed. Use a screwdriver to straighten out the crooked doors. The cabinet doors must be lined up, so if they are not, unscrew and reattach them and things will become all good. 

  • Turn the adjustment lever clockwise so that it faces the cabinet ceiling and make it as tight as you can

  • You might need to buy new hinges as the rust on them does hamper their closing speed so check it out and buy hinges accordingly
