Using an RO water system is a necessity these days. But if you use an RO you should also know how to increase TDS in RO water. When I first started using an RO, I wasn’t aware of what TDS meant or how everything worked. So I researched a bit and understood that TDS or Total Dissolved Solids refers to the concentration of dissolved particles in the water. RO usually uses the reverse osmosis system in which the TDS level is required to be a good level. 

But with regular use the TDS level goes down and you may want to raise the TDS level in order to enhance the water and also prevent corrosion. Let me tell you how you can do so.

1. Use a remineralization filter. A remineralization filter is a cartridge that is installed in the RO system after the reverse osmosis membrane. It adds minerals back into the water, which increases the TDS. Remineralization filters can be purchased from most RO system manufacturers.

2. Use mineral drops. Mineral drops are a concentrated solution of minerals that can be added to RO water to increase the TDS. Mineral drops can be purchased from most health food stores and online retailers.

3. Blend RO water with tap water. Tap water contains minerals, so blending it with RO water can increase the TDS of the RO water. The amount of tap water needed will vary depending on the TDS of the tap water.

4. Use a TDS controller. A TDS controller is a device that measures the TDS of the water and then adjusts the amount of water that is sent through the reverse osmosis membrane. This allows you to control the TDS of the water output. TDS controllers can be purchased from most RO system manufacturers.
