Using an RO water system is a necessity these days. But if you use an RO you should also know how to increase TDS in RO water. When I first started using an RO, I wasn’t aware of what TDS meant or how everything worked. So I researched a bit and understood that TDS or Total Dissolved Solids refers to the concentration of dissolved particles in the water. RO usually uses the reverse osmosis system in which the TDS level is required to be a good level.

But with regular use the TDS level goes down and you may want to raise the TDS level in order to enhance the water and also prevent corrosion. Let me tell you how you can do so.

How to improve TDS in RO system?

Follow these methods to understand

how to increase TDS level in RO water

:

  1. Use a remineralization filter. A remineralization filter is a cartridge that is installed in the RO system after the reverse osmosis membrane. It adds minerals back into the water, which increases the TDS. Remineralization filters can be purchased from most RO system manufacturers.

  2. Use mineral drops. Mineral drops are a concentrated solution of minerals that can be added to RO water to increase the TDS. Mineral drops can be purchased from most health food stores and online retailers.

  3. Blend RO water with tap water. Tap water contains minerals, so blending it with RO water can increase the TDS of the RO water. The amount of tap water needed will vary depending on the TDS of the tap water.

  4. Use a TDS controller. A TDS controller is a device that measures the TDS of the water and then adjusts the amount of water that is sent through the reverse osmosis membrane. This allows you to control the TDS of the water output. TDS controllers can be purchased from most RO system manufacturers.

It is important to note that increasing the TDS in RO water can also increase the levels of impurities in the water. Therefore, it is important to test the water regularly to ensure that it is safe to drink.

I hope now you understand how to increase TDS level in RO water.

Hey,

Earlier on, people used to walk miles to get water from wells. They had to lug heavy vessels on their heads. Those days are long gone, thanks to RO. Having RO installed in our houses has made our life easier. I will tell you how to increase TDS in RO in this comment itself.

Meaning :

Total Dissolved Solids or TDS are organic and inorganic materials and chemicals (Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, and Potassium cations, Carbonate, Hydrogen Carbonate, Chloride, Sulphate, and Nitrate anions), which are dissolved in water. TDS gets absorbed in water because of contact with different surfaces. Drinking dirty water can lead to people getting sick.TDS controller for RO forces water to go through a membrane. All unwanted particles are filtered and water is purified.

Take a look at the table given below to know how much TDS is found in water.

TDS Level in parts per million(ppm)

Between 50-150

Excellent for drinking

150-250

Good

250-300

Fair

300-500

How to adjust TDS in RO system ?

You can adjust the TDS amount in water by getting a TDS Controller for RO. It is readily available online and offline. The average price of the product is Rs 200 to 300. Just attach the device to the output area of the RO.

How to adjust TDS ?

Another method to adjust the amount of Total Dissolved Solids in water is by getting a purifier that has a Mineralizer feature. This is how water infected with lead and arsenic is treated automatically.

TDS is also adjusted through Reverse osmosis (RO) water filtration systems. The semipermeable membrane in the system separates solids and drinkable water in the machine itself.

This is all from my end on how to increase TDS in RO.
