A ration card is a piece of documentation designed to offer discounted food and supplies to Indian citizens. The Department of Food, Supplies, and Consumer Supplies provides it. Nowadays, applying for a ration card is not difficult. I have recently applied for a new ration card in Maharashtra by following the below process:

  • Go to

    https://mahafood.gov.in/website/english/home.aspx

    .

  • Click 'Download' from the left side menu.

  • To submit, click the "Form 1: Application for new ration card” link.

  • Fill out all the necessary details.

  • Send it to the Department of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection with all required supporting documentation attached. Additionally, you must include a Rs. 2 stamp while submitting your form.
