How To Block SBI Credit Card?

I felt sorry but was also a bit glad when my friend rushed to our house and asked me how to block SBI credit card online. I too had once lost my credit card and was severely scolded by my parents. I rushed to my father that day and asked how to block my SBI credit card. He without delay asked me to:

• Log on to sbicard.com and block the card by clicking on the Block Lost/Stolen Card option. I was not able to log in due to some network issue so he asked me to

• Send a SMS: BLOCK (last 4 digits of the card) to 5676791 from my registered mobile number. Instantly I got a SMS from the bank about the block

Now this SMS blocks the credit card permanently so do note it down. 

How to block SBI credit card online?

You can block your credit card online as well following these steps:

• Provide your name and password and login to https://www.onlinesbi.com/ 

• Click on ATM card Services and then on Block ATM card available under the e-services tab

• Select the account which you would like to block

• All the active and blocked cards will be shown and you will be able to see the first 4 and last 4 digits of the card

• Select the card you would like to block and click on submit

• Check the details and confirm

• Select whether you want SMS OTP or Profile Password option

• Enter the OTP/Profile password and then click on confirm

• A success message will be displayed after the successful blocking of the card

I later got to know that one can also call their helpline number 18601801290/39020202 adding local STD code before the number is a must.
