Prefabricated house is a house which has been made in a factory and then put together at a place to build a house. It somewhat reminds me of the puzzles that the kids play to build things. They are very much time-saving and are in practice in the European nations having wooden houses. But technology has advanced a lot and thus India too is now opting for prefabricated house construction. I read about this quite a long time ago so can share some insights about it.

Is building a prefab house done in India?
Yes. India has made a great technological advancement and prefab houses here are built using 3 methods-
-
Modular-
Fabrication of buildings is done in modules. The kitchen, living room, bedroom etc are built separately and assembled together at the actual site. Such buildings are also known as ‘lego’ blocks.
-
Panel built-
Such homes are made from panels and transported to the construction site to build the house. These houses need a lot of interior finishing work
-
Manufactured-
these houses are called mobile houses. They are built in a different location and then transported to the actual site.
