How to build a walk in closet step by step?

Everyone wants a walk in closet in their home nowadays. The modern concept of a walk in closet has many advantages. How to build a walk in closet step by step?

• Select a space for walk in closet

Selecting a space for walking in closet is important. You should check out which place is convenient for your walk in closet. Generally, people like their walking closet to be inside their bedroom. It's better not to select a space with too many windows as windows tend to reduce the area of the wall. Keep in mind that you may need to install some closet in your closet room. So, choose accordingly.

1. Measure the space for items in walk in closet

In your closet, you might want to place a wardrobe or mirrors. You need to check where you want to place your items and measure the items as well. It's better to make a rough sketch of your closet and the items you want inside your walk in closet. That way, you will know how much and what is to be measured. Keep a tape with yourself. It will come in handy.

2. Lay the Foundation

To lay the foundation of the closet, you will need to begin with woodwork. You can check on Google and get some ideas about closet designs or you can draw a rough sketch of the closet as well. Make the units by cutting the wooden pieces. The size can differ as per the measurements of the wall.

3. Install the Shelves

Now that you have completed the basics, you need to install units on the wall. You need L-shaped brackets for support. To fix the brackets you need to situate the studs and check the location of each bracket. You need to attach the 3-inch screws on each unit. After installing the units you can utilise the space by keeping some hangers. After this you can install drawers in the middle unit. You can decorate your shelves with some glasses as well. After installing everything, start organising your clothes, shoes, makeup kits, jewellery, etc.

4. Install some fancy lights

After finishing the handiwork, you can install some LED lighting to bring out the best in the walk in closet. Proper lighting can illuminate the entire room. LED strip lights are the best for closets.
