Hi Siddhant. To understand how to calculate price per square foot commercial lease, you must know a couple of things. First is the total square footage of the property you’re paying rent for. Second, the monthly or yearly rent you’re paying. You simply need to divide the total square footage by the rent and the obtained figure will be the per square footage rent. If you have shared spaces and then you need to calculate the rent, there is another formula for it. I am sharing it below.

How do you Calculate Commercial Rent Per Square Foot?

Commercial properties can also be given on rent based on shared areas and accessible areas. Our office has this concept. So, to calculate the rent for this, you can follow the following formula:

Rent = Accessible Sq Ft x Accessible Sq Ft Rate Per Month  + (Common area x the rates per month for the common area)

For example, consider that the shared area is 100 square feet and the accessible area is 200 square feet. The rent for the shared area is Rs. 50 per square feet and that of the accessible area is 100 per square feet. Then, the calculation would go something like this:

(200 x 100) + (50 x 100) = Rs. 25000

You can use this method as well to understand how to calculate rent per square foot commercial. I hope it helps.
