Last year one of my friends, Namita, bought a plot in Hyderabad. Just before she started constructing her house, her mother suggested dividing the plot on the basis of Padas in Vastu. As, this will determine the auspicious direction in which the house should be constructed. She was very specific and told her that the house entrance should be in the 4th Pada. However, Namita was clueless about how to calculate 4th pada in Vastu.

What is Pada in Vastu?
The site where you intend to build the house should be divided into nine sections, yielding 9x9=81 squares or rectangles. These 81 rectangles or squares are known as the Vastu Shastra Padas. The Ekaseeti Pada Vastu is another name for it.
How to calculate Pada in Vastu for a West facing house?
According to west-facing main door Vastu,
Divide the home into 9 equal sections, starting in the northwest corner and working your way to the southwest end, to determine the number of padas
For main entrances in west-facing house layouts, the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth padas are the most auspicious since they welcome positivity and pleasant vibes
Keep in mind that the fifth to ninth Padas are the "prohibited" ones and should never be utilised as a home's entryway.
