Registration charges and stamp duty are taxes that you will have to pay to the respective city authorities for registering a property in your name. In this answer, I will explain how to find stamp duty value of property in simple terms.

How to Know Stamp Duty Value of Property

Stamp duty on residential property is calculated on the higher value between the property’s value specified in the agreement and the Ready Reckoner rate.

For example, if the property’s value as per the agreement is Rs. 50L and the ready reckoner rate of the unit is Rs. 70L, then the stamp duty on the property’s sale will be calculated on the reckoner rate (Rs. 70L).

I want you to know that the stamp duty rates in India are different in different states. Plus, it can also differ within the state if the property falls inside the gram panchayat, municipal council, and municipal corporation limits.

If you want to know how to find value of property as per stamp valuation authority, then you can check their official website. You can also use any Stamp Duty Calculator available online.
