How to calculate square feet for painting walls?
To calculate the square feet for painting walls, at first:
Measure the height and width of each wall you want to paint in the same unit (e.g., feet or metres).
Then multiply the height by the width of each wall to find its area in square units.
Add up the areas of all the walls you plan to paint.
Deduct the area of doors and windows from the total wall area.
Example: If you have four walls, each 10 ft high and 12 ft wide, the total wall area is 480 sq. ft (4 walls x 10 ft x 12 ft). Deduct window and door areas to find the exact paintable area. I hope this paint area calculation formula will help you get your paintable area.

Get your kitchen professionally painted to give it a brand-new look and feelPaint area calculation depends on whether you also want to paint the ceilings along with the walls.
How to calculate painting area?- Ceilings:
Multiply the room's length by its breadth to determine the size of the floor area. For instance, 4 x 6 = 24 square metres if the room is 4 m wide and 6 m long. There will be a total of 2 coats needed, thus you will need sufficient paint to cover 48 square metres.
- Walls:
The area of room for painting formula will be the area of the ceiling + the area of the walls
Area of the ceiling is the same as the area of the floor. To evaluate the area of the floor, you need to determine the room’s length and the room’s breadth and multiply the two.
To calculate the total area of the walls, you will need to add the length of each wall and then multiply it by the height of the room,
For instance, if the room’s dimension is 10 feet x 10 feet, then the total floor area (plus ceiling area) is 100 square feet.
If the total wall area is 40 feet and the height is 10 feet, then the total wall area is 40x10= 400 square feet
Remember to take into account any windows or doors while measuring so that the amount of paint needed is reduced.
I hope this helps with the query, of how to calculate area of wall for painting. I hope this helps:)
