Hi there, I have been living in Kolkata for the past five years and pay my electricity bill to the WBSEDCL. So, I believe I can help you with the WBSEDCL bill calculation process. You can calculate your WBSEDCL bill by multiplying the total units consumed by you in one month with the current rate per unit.

Let me also help you with the current rates to make the calculation easier for you.

What are the Current WBSEDCL Slab Rates?

Here are the slab rates for electricity usage under WBSEDCL. As you can see, with the increase in units you use per month, the rate per unit also increases.

From the table, you can see the quarterly consumption given in Kilowatt hour (KWH). So for 75 units in KWH  for a lifeline consumer , the energy charged is Rs. 379 per KWH. Coming to the urban domestic consumer, the charge per KWH is Rs. 102 for the first 102 units and it becomes Rs 120 per KWH for the next 120 units in KWH.

Let me show you the calculation process with the help of an example. Suppose you’ve used 1000 units. You then need to see the slab rate under which your consumption is falling. Once you know this, you can simply multiply your consumed units i.e. 1000 in this example with the per unit rate. For example, the rate is Rs. 7.10. So, your bill would be Rs. 7100. Apart from this, the additional costs like taxes would make your final bill.

This is all I have to say regarding wbsedcl bill calculation. I hope this helps.
