My uncle is working in the wooden industry. Most of the time he uses the unit cubic feet (cft) to calculate the dimension and cost of wooden planks or lumbers. If you want to know how to calculate cft of wood, I can help you out. It’s just 4 simple steps to do the calculation. Scroll down to know the technique.

How to calculate wood cft for door frame?

You just need to have some fundamental Mathematical abilities to figure out how many cubic feet of wood are required for a door frame. Follow the steps given below:

1. Measuring the length, breadth, and height in terms of feet of every piece of door frame. The height of a frame is its measurement from bottom to top; its breadth is its measurement across its top; and its length is its thickness.

2. If you already have the measurements in some other unit like inch, yard, and so on, then you can do the conversion using the following technique:

  • 1 centimeter = 0.032 feet

  • 1 meter = 3.28 feet

  • 1 inch = 0.83 feet

  • 1 yard = 3 feet

3. Now, multiply the value of length, breadth, and height to get the value of cubic feet of wood.

The formula to calculate cft of wood is:

Cubic Feet = Length x Width/ Breadth x Height

4. Finally, add the cft of every frame piece altogether.

I hope you got an idea on how to do calculation of wooden cft. If you have any doubts related to the same, please drop a comment below.
