When I first came to Delhi, I didn’t know how to check Delhi Jal Board meter reading. But with the help of my roommates, I learnt it. He said I can check my meter reading easily by signing on the DJB RMS portal. All I need is to know my K number (K No.). He also shared with me the way to read the meter. I have shared all the details below. Steps to Check Delhi Jal Board Metre Reading

Metres can be of different types depending upon the water metre and design. The readings can be seen in a box called Odometer. In the micrometre, he said the reading is measured in Kilolitres (KL). He informed me of the following steps to read the water meter:

  • Open this

    DJB RMS official website

    link.

  • Click on “Consumer Login.”

  • Login with User ID and Password. If you are a new user, register with your K No., mobile number and email Id.

  • Finally, enter the OTP and you will see the meter reading.

Alternatively, you can use the DJB My Bill app to get a better understanding of your water usage. I hope you found this helpful.

While leaving a place, one of the most important tasks is to understand how to cancel water bill when moving? By the end of next month, I have to leave Delhi and shift to Bangalore because of my new job. I also had this query, so I asked my cousin about it as he too moved almost 3 months ago. He said when moving you should give your water supplier at least two weeks' notice to cancel a water bill. Let me share more details with you.

Steps to Cancel Water Bill When Moving

My cousin informed me it's necessary to figure  out a way to cancel utilities to avoid unnecessary penalties and a peaceful transition to a new place. Here’s what he asked me to do:

  • First, check your current water provider’s policies. Most companies offer guidance on  their website. You’ll have to provide your account number, which is usually found on your bill. You might as well have to inform them of your moving date, as they may need to schedule a final metre reading.

  • You must contact your water provider directly. You can usually do this via the phone and clearly state that you wish to cancel your water bill because of your upcoming move. Be ready to verify your identity and provide the required details about your account.

  • Before leaving your old home, do not forget to note your last reading. Share it with your provider to ensure you’re only charged for the water you use. It’s better to confirm when your last bill will be sent so you can be sure.

After you’ve cancelled your account, remember to update your address for any future correspondence. Also, don’t forget to double-check any leftover payments or deposits.
