So, I wanted to know how to change a hanging light fixture. My sister is amazing at changing and installing lights. When I asked her how to change a ceiling light fixture, she gave me some good tips. So, I will share with you how to change a light fixture in the house.

How to change light fixture over stairs ?Find the electrical circuit panel and situate the circuit breaker control. Turn off the circuit, and use a circuit tester to ensure that the power is off. Turn off the wall switch for the light too for safety.
Now, remove the old fixture and old wire connectors. Also, remove the base or trim from the old fixture.
Find the electrical box located in the ceiling and see if the fixture is attached. Tighten with a screw if the box is loose and also make sure that you don't overtighten. You can also install a new box if you want. If you want to keep the old one then make sure that the box is securely attached to the building structure to support the weight of the fixture.
Take a wire stripper and remove the new fixture from the protective wire coating. Screw on the wire connectors and connect the grounding wire as well.
Insert the wires into the electrical box or the empty space. Attach the wire to the fixture's base or canopy. Ask a friend for help if you are replacing the fixture on a high ceiling.
Now select the wattage correctly to install the bulb into the fixture. You can install an LED bulb as well. Turn the electrical panel first and then the new fixture's light switch. Check the wiring connection if the light doesn't come on.
Insert the trim and cover to the light fixture.
