How to Change Light Bulb in High Ceiling Chandelier ?

Although changing the light bulbs in a chandelier with a high ceiling can be difficult, it is feasible with the correct technique. If you want to know how to change chandelier light bulbs in high ceilings, I can share the steps that take to do it.

• I use a strong ladder to reach the chandelier. Make sure the ladder is situated on a level area.

• In order to prevent any electrical mishaps, I always switch off the chandelier's electricity at the circuit breaker before touching anything.

• Followed by assembling the required equipment, which includes spare bulbs and a screwdriver in case it's needed.

• After this to remove the old bulbs, I unscrew them carefully in an anticlockwise direction. Usage of rubber gloves or a cloth is important to increase grip and prevent breaking if any bulbs are stuck.

• Insert the new bulbs into the sockets in a clockwise motion. Take care not to tighten too much.

• I always examine and tighten any loose screws or connections if the chandelier has fallen free.

• After the bulbs are firmly in position, I restart the power and make sure the chandelier is operating properly.

It takes time and caution to change the lights in high-ceilinged chandeliers. Now that you know how to change bulbs in high chandelier, I’d like to say that it's advisable to get professional help if you're uneasy about the height or uncertain about the electrical components to prevent mishaps.

There is no special way of changing the chandelier ceiling light. It is similar to changing a normal light bulb. You don’t need any extra tools other than your standard toolbox. You just need to follow instructions and practice caution to protect yourself from electric shocks. The process I'm sharing will work on ceiling bulbs and LED tube lights.  

 - Take the bulb grabber and attach it to the extension pole 

 - Rotate the grabber in the notches given according to the type of bulb

 - Pull out the bulb 

 - Remove the grabber by pulling the release string 

 - Put the new bulb in the grabber 

 - Screw the bulb in the socket with the grabber. 

 - Pull the release string of the grabber to release the bulb 

 - Turn on the chandelier light switch to check if the bulb gets lit or not

This is how to change a light. Modern Homes usually have a nine-foot ceiling whereas older homes have an eight-foot ceiling. 

• You need to shut off the main power supply or the breaker. 

• Before you touch any wire, remember to verify whether the power is off or not with a non-contact circuit tester. 

• I would recommend having someone hold the extension ladder to make sure you don’t fall. 

• You should get a ladder cover or ladder mitts to make sure there are no scratches on your wall.

• Remember to wear rubber gloves while changing the bulb.
