Based on Form 26AS, the deductee from whose income the tax amount has been withheld is entitled to a credit of the deducted amount. You must know how to check TDS return status in TRACES. For that, you can go through the below process.

How to Check Filed TDS Return in TRACES Online?

Follow these steps for checking your TDS return status in the TRACES portal. 

  1. Go to the TRACES website:

    www.tdscpc.gov.in

  2. Sign in with your User ID (TAN), Password, and Captcha code. If you don’t have an account, register first using your TAN and details like previous filing.

  3. Go to the Statements/Payments tab. Select View Filed TDS Statements.

  4. Choose the relevant Financial Year and Quarter for which you want to check the status. Select the type of TDS/TCS statement (24Q, 26Q, 27Q, or 27EQ).

  5. The system will display details of the filed TDS return, including:

  6. Acknowledgment Number.

  7. Date of filing.

  8. Filing Status (Accepted, Rejected, or Pending).

  9. Remarks, if applicable.

If required, download the consolidated file (Conso file) or Form 16/16A for verification. Ensure that the TDS return has been processed successfully to avoid discrepancies.

  1. You will have to login to the TRACES portal with your credentials

  3. On the dashboard you will see the Payment/Statement option. 

  4. Click on that. 

  5. You can check the status of a statement filled by 4 methods. 

  6. Pick any one of the methods and mention all the details required. 

  7. You can search using the details of the TDS statement. You will be required to mention the financial year, quarter etc. 

  8. Remember to mention the correct form type.

  9. Then click on the ‘View’ option.
