There are different kinds of mismatches in GST returns, such as ITC mismatch, turnover mismatch, and differential tax mismatch. You can notice ITC mismatch in the ITC statement, which is a comparison report one receives as a taxpayer every financial year. As a legal advisor, I can tell you how to check GST mismatch. For this, you need to visit the official GST portal and login with your credentials. Let me explain more.
How to Check Mismatch in GST Portal?
Let me tell you how to check ITC mismatch, which usually occurs when the ITC claimed by a taxpayer is different from the report. You can do this by accessing the ‘Tax Liabilities and ITC Comparison reports’ in the official website. Here are some steps you need to follow.
Go to the official
GST portal
and login with valid credentials.
You will find an option for ‘Tax Liabilities and ITC Comparison’ under ‘Services’ section.
After clicking on the option, you will be directed to another page, where you need to enter the financial year you want to view the comparison report for.
The reports will be displayed.
So, if you have declared less liability in Form GSTR-3B than what you can view in the report, you will see the corresponding values in red colour.
You can download the individual reports in the CSV format.
Then, you can download the complete comparison reports in the format of excel.
I hope this helps you understand how to check mismatch in GST. You can click on the ‘Help’ button to get help related to this page.
