How to check NEFT transaction status with reference number?

To know about NEFT transaction status, you need to learn about UTR Number. UTR Number is a reference number which can be found in bank statements. This UTR number can be used to check the NEFT transaction status. For this, you need to contact the NEFT Customer Facilitation Centre (CFC)  of your bank branch and provide details of NEFT transactions such as your UTR (Unique Transfer Reference) Number, date of transaction, name of the bank, etc.

Bank authorities will share the status of the transaction after you share the details with them.

You can check the NEFT transaction status via messages as well. For this, you need to add a receiver as the beneficiary. Enter your name, email address and mobile number. After sharing these details, you will be able to check the transaction status. You will get an SMS after the money is transferred to the receiver’s account.

I have shared two processes. I hope you understand how to check NEFT status now.

Here are the steps for how to check NEFT status online:

  1. Via Internet Banking

Most banks provide an option to check the status of NEFT transactions through their internet banking portal. Here’s how to do it:

  • Access your bank's internet banking website and log in using your credentials. Go to the section that displays your account's transaction history or payment history. Locate the NEFT transaction by searching with the date, transaction reference number, or amount.

  • The status will typically be shown as 'Completed,' 'Pending,' or 'Failed,' along with details like the date and time of the transaction.

  1. Via Mobile Banking

Another way on how to check status of NEFT transaction is using mobile banking. If your bank offers a mobile banking app, you can check the NEFT status through the app. You have to log in to your bank's mobile banking application. Navigate to the section where you can view your transaction history. Find the specific NEFT transaction using filters like date, reference number, or amount. The app will display the status of your transaction.

  1. SMS and Email Alerts

Banks often send SMS and email notifications for NEFT transactions:

Look for SMS or email alerts from your bank that confirm the status of your NEFT transaction. These notifications usually contain the transaction reference number, amount, and status (e.g., successful, pending, or failed).

  1. Customer Service

If you are unable to check the status through online or mobile banking, you can contact your bank's customer service.

Use the customer service helpline number provided by your bank. Be ready to provide details such as your account number, the date of the transaction, and the transaction reference number. Ask the customer service representative to check the status of your NEFT transaction.

  1. Visit the Bank Branch

As a last resort, you can visit your bank branch to inquire about the NEFT status:

Visit the nearest branch of your bank. Approach the customer service desk or your account manager. Give them the required details like account number, transaction date, and reference number. The bank representative will check the system and provide you with the status of your NEFT transaction.

The NEFT status check online is a simple process. All you need to get started with the bank account linking to your mobile phone and email address. If you don't have those, you can still check the status of a NEFT transaction using a reference number or by going to the bank in person.

How to check NEFT transfer status with Reference Number?

The reference number is typically generated by the sender or the Banking system during the transaction process and is recorded in the transaction data. This reference number can be used in the future to monitor the transaction's progress or address any problems that may arise.

To check NEFT status with UTR No, you can follow these general steps:

  • Contact your Bank:

Call, email, or stop by a branch to contact customer support at your bank. Give them the reference number and ask about the NEFT transaction's status. They will be in a position to give you the most precise and recent information regarding your transaction.

  • Online Banking:

If your Bank offers Internet banking services, you can log in to your account and visit the section containing the transaction history or the transaction status. Look for a way to use the reference number to search for or follow transactions. Check the status by entering the reference number and following the on-screen directions.
